ALYSSA BURKUS

For more than 25 years, Alyssa has worked with business leaders and consultants to help them translate their strategic vision into change programs and communications that move people to take action.

She has developed more than 130 change programs globally, using behaviour science and Appreciative Inquiry principles to create new levels of sustained change.

She started her career at a global management consulting firm, and has worked as part of the senior leadership team in a variety of roles ranging from startups to publicly-traded global firms.

Prior to relaunching Shift Wisdom in 2021, Alyssa was VP, Transformation at Actionable.co, a behaviour change technology company, where she was responsible for global program delivery. She also developed Actionable’s Change Methodology, used by change consultants globally. She continues to be an advisor and early-stage investor at Actionable.

Alyssa’s writing experience comes from ghostwriting and content development for corporate executives in the delivery of their change programs, guest writing for websites like HR.com and CIO.com, as well as her work as Managing Editor for the set of blogs at Actionable.

Alyssa is also a three-time cancer survivor, and works as a Volunteer Coach with Wellspring, where her model for recovery and resilience has been used to help cancer survivors achieve new levels of growth and satisfaction in their lives.

Alyssa has a Master’s degree in Industrial Relations (MIR) from Queen’s University, and is a certified coach. She lives near Toronto, Canada.
